We’re a bit stoked to introduce an exciting addition to the GG family- our new Warehouse Supervisor Dez. Dez is the absolute epitome of what we mean when we say our team have hearts and smarts. Dez has been kind enough to share some thoughts on his first few weeks with GG:
"Before starting with GG I spent 10 years working in warehousing and logistics for BBQs Galore, Bunnings Warehouse, Fantastic Furniture and Innovation With Energy. I have driven forklifts and trucks, managed warehouses, delivered products all over Sydney, and installed all types of furniture for clients.
I found out about the Warehouse Supervisor role with GG through the recent job advertisement on Seek. Before applying, I looked into GG more thoroughly and, after reading about its mission, what Carmen, Davida and the team have contributed over the years, the number of people/families helped, I decided that it was definitely a position I would like to pursue.
Outside of my professional experience, I have also volunteered for the PCYC, St Vincent's de Paul, Oz harvest, and RACS. My attraction to this role was based on the amazing services provided by GG, and the fact that it would combine my professional experience in warehousing with my personal experience as a volunteer.
Before pursuing a career in warehousing, I worked in a gym, helping clients achieve their fitness/lifestyle goals. One day, a training partner offered me a position within a warehouse which, he said, would involve, lifting and moving boxes, unloading trucks, customer service etc. I guess the rest is history.
The role so far has been amazing, challenging, informative, and rewarding. The entire GG team are superstars and have gone out of their way to help me become acquainted with the responsibilities associated with this role. Considering the effort they put in each and every day, I often have to remind myself that my colleagues volunteer their own time to help deliver the invaluable service which GG provides. Very impressive."
